How much does 3D printing cost in India at Syntax3DLab?
Most prototype parts fall between ₹350 and ₹2,800, which works out to roughly ₹8-18 per gram of finished part. Price is driven by material volume, machine time, finish quality and turnaround. Syntax3DLab applies a ₹350 order minimum, volume discounts from 5 parts (up to 18% at 100+), and a 1.7× multiplier for 24-hour rush jobs. At draft or standard finish, yes they will look printed. At showpiece finish, 0.08 mm layers, sanded to 400 grit, primed, most people can't tell without being told. Budget the finish level by who is looking: draft for your own testing, showpiece for the ones you photograph or hand to investors.

Which 3D printing materials does Syntax3DLab offer?
Eight FDM filaments: PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU 95A, PLA-CF, PA-CF (carbon-fiber reinforced high-temperature nylon) and polycarbonate. ASA is used for UV and outdoor exposure, PA-CF where strength and heat resistance to 120 °C matter, PC for impact-critical parts, and TPU 95A for gaskets and grips. Syntax3DLab doesn't offer SLA resin printing.

Yes, within limits. Materials that print at compatible temperatures and bond to each other can be combined, PLA with PLA-CF, or PETG with a soluble support interface, for example. Combining materials with very different print temperatures or poor mutual adhesion produces a part that delaminates at the boundary, so we'll tell you if a combination won't hold.

ASA, without much competition. It's the only common filament with genuine UV and weather stability, which matters enormously under Indian sun. PLA becomes brittle and discoloured within a season outdoors, and standard ABS yellows and chalks. ASA holds colour and mechanical properties for years.

The carbon fiber is the same idea in both, chopped fiber added for stiffness and dimensional stability, but the base polymer is completely different. PLA-CF is stiff and looks excellent but still softens around 60 °C. PA-CF is nylon-based: far tougher, far better under fatigue, and usable to 120 °C. PLA-CF is a cosmetic and stiffness upgrade; PA-CF is an engineering material.

We can supply the manufacturer datasheet for any filament we stock. Note that published figures come from injection-moulded test specimens, so a printed part won't match them, printed parts are anisotropic and typically reach 60-80% of datasheet strength along the layers and considerably less across them. Treat the datasheet as a comparison between materials, not as a prediction of your part.

Better than PLA, worse than you'd like. Carbon fiber makes parts stiffer but more brittle, it absorbs less impact energy. If crash survival is the priority rather than stiffness, polycarbonate is the better choice. Many teams print the frame in PA-CF and the crash structures in PC.

PETG resists water and most common laboratory solvents and cleaning agents well. It isn't resistant to everything, strong solvents will attack it. Tell us what the part will contact and we'll advise, or tell you when no filament we stock is appropriate.

It applies the same order of reasoning an engineer uses when quoting: environment first, then failure mode, then load, and only then your stated preference. Environment and failure mode eliminate most of the catalogue before preference is considered at all, which is why "which material is strongest" is the wrong question to start from.

No. It recommends PLA and PETG frequently, because they are the right answer for most parts. Over-specification is the most common and most expensive mistake in material selection, and the tool is built to avoid it rather than to upsell.

What 3D printers does Syntax3DLab use?
Two enclosed high-speed FDM machines. A Bambu Lab P1S Combo with a 4-spool AMS handles multi-colour and multi-material parts in a 256 × 256 × 256 mm envelope at layers down to 0.08 mm. A Creality K1 Max handles large-format work in a 300 × 300 × 300 mm envelope with a 300 °C hardened hotend. Both run hardened steel nozzles, so carbon-fiber composites print without wearing the machine out.

Yes. The Bambu Lab P1S Combo runs an AMS holding four filament spools, so a single part can combine up to four colours or materials in one print with no painting or assembly. TPU is fed from an external spool and can't be combined in an AMS job.

Syntax3DLab holds ±0.20 mm or ±0.3% of the nominal dimension, whichever is greater. Layer heights run from 0.08 mm for detail work up to 0.35 mm for fast draft parts. Every part is checked against the source model before dispatch. FDM is a layered process, so holes and vertical features typically need a small allowance, we flag this at review.

It depends far more on material, infill and orientation than on the process itself. A PA-CF part at 60% infill, oriented so the load runs along the layers, is stiff enough to replace a machined aluminium bracket in many applications. The same geometry in PLA at 10% infill, printed on its side, will snap in your hands. We choose orientation and infill against your load case rather than leaving it to defaults.

With a 0.4 mm nozzle, the practical minimum for a standing wall is about 0.8 mm and for an embossed or engraved feature about 0.5 mm wide by 0.3 mm deep. Text below roughly 4 mm cap height stops being legible. Below those thresholds the feature either doesn't appear or appears as a blob.

Not in a single print. The AMS holds four spools, so four is the ceiling per job. A part needing more colours can be split into sections printed separately and assembled, or you can use a paint pass for the additional colours.

TPU is flexible, and the AMS feed path involves tight bends and a buffer that a soft filament buckles in rather than pushes through. TPU therefore prints from an external spool on a direct path to the extruder, which rules it out of AMS jobs. TPU parts are still available as single-material prints.

It can, and this is the mistake we see most. PLA softens at 55 °C, which a warm regulator inside a sealed box reaches easily. Tell us the internal temperature and we'll pick a material with headroom, PETG to 75 °C, PC to 110 °C, and advise on vent placement.

It will be, and that's fine. Print version one in PLA at draft finish for a few hundred rupees, hand it to the operator, and watch. Version two costs the same again. That loop is the entire advantage over machined tooling.

STL, OBJ, 3MF, STEP and STP. STL files are measured directly in your browser by the instant estimator, so volume and bounding-box pricing happen without uploading anything. For other formats an engineer measures the model and confirms pricing within one business day.

The determining factors are material choice, wall thickness, orientation relative to load, and infill. The print profile, material batch, orientation and post-processing steps are recorded against the part number when it's first qualified, and reruns use that recorded profile. We also keep a retained physical sample so a later batch can be measured against the original rather than debated.

As a rough guide, somewhere in the low thousands of units for a simple part. Below that, tooling cost dominates and printing wins; above it, the per-unit economics of moulding take over. That's usually the point of the exercise. A part that failed is telling you where the stress concentrated, so we thicken that section, add a fillet to the sharp internal corner where the crack started, or reorient it so the layers run along the load rather than across it. Yes, and this is a genuine advantage of printing over tooling. There's no tool to modify, so a revision costs nothing beyond the reprint. We'll record the change against the part number and note which units are the earlier revision.

Not until you've shipped a few hundred units of a design nobody has asked you to change. The crossover on cost is usually somewhere between 1,000 and 5,000 units, but the real trigger is design stability, not volume. Tooling a design that then changes costs you the whole tool.

Tolerance stack-up between the connector on your board, the board in the enclosure and our ±0.20 mm means you should assume about ±1 mm of positional uncertainty. We oversize cutouts by 0.5 mm all round to absorb it, and for a critical port we recommend printing a small test coupon of just that face first. It costs the ₹350 minimum and eliminates the most common reprint.

We can design for ingress protection, gasket channel rather than a flat mating face, 2 mm minimum walls, proper cable glands, sloped surfaces. What we can't do is certify an IP rating, because that's a test result, not a design intention. If you need a certified rating, the enclosure has to go to a test house.

For holding, cradling and guiding, yes. We hold ±0.20 mm or ±0.3%. For a precision gauge checking a ±0.05 mm tolerance, no, and we'll tell you so. The right answer there's to print the fixture body and machine or press-fit the critical features, which is still far cheaper than machining the whole thing.

PA-CF holds to 120 °C and PC to 110 °C, which covers many under-hood locations but not all of them. An exhaust-adjacent bracket is beyond any filament we stock. Tell us the actual measured temperature at the mounting point and we'll tell you honestly whether printing is viable there.

This is where nylon earns its price. PA-CF has the best fatigue life of anything we print, which is exactly what repeated vibration demands. Orientation matters more here than anywhere else. We print so the layer lines run along the load, not across it.

No, and anyone who says otherwise is overselling. Chopped-fiber filament is a fiber-reinforced polymer, not a composite laminate. The fibers are too short to carry load across the part the way continuous fiber does. What PA-CF gives you is excellent stiffness-to-weight at a fraction of the cost and lead time of machined aluminium, which for a design still in flux is usually the better trade.

For a plain rectilinear block with flat faces, you probably should. A traditional model shop cutting acrylic or MDF will be cheaper and faster than we can print it, and we would rather tell you that than win the job and overcharge you. Printing earns its price somewhere else: contoured terrain, curved or perforated facades, fine repeated detail like louvres and balustrades, and a deadline that needs the model tomorrow rather than next week.

We can, but be careful who you ask. Turning 2D plans into a presentation model is a visualisation job, and dedicated studios and freelancers do it cheaper than an engineering bureau should. What we are genuinely good at is the step after that: taking the model you already have and making it printable. Sectioning, wall thickness, watertight geometry, orientation. That is where architectural prints usually fall over, and it's the part we'd rather be paid for.

The part itself is ideal, even in pieces. Failing that, clear photographs from several angles with a ruler or a caliper in frame, plus the key dimensions measured as accurately as you can manage. Tell us what it mates with, because the interfacing dimensions are the ones that have to be right.

No. We manufacture to your specification; we don't certify parts for road use, and nothing we print carries a homologation or safety approval. For anything safety-critical or regulated, printed parts are appropriate for prototyping and test fixtures, not for the vehicle.
