Why iteration speed beats iteration quality
The most expensive prototype is the one you spend three weeks perfecting before discovering the mounting boss is in the wrong place. Physical parts surface problems that no amount of CAD review catches. The thing that's awkward to hold, the cable that won't route, the fastener you can't reach with a driver.
The teams who get hardware right aren't the ones who make the best first prototype. They're the ones who make the most prototypes. Cheap, fast, slightly ugly parts that arrive within days beat beautiful parts that arrive in three weeks, because the fast ones let you be wrong four times before the slow ones let you be wrong once.
Our pricing is built for this. Draft finish exists precisely so that a fit check costs a fraction of a presentation model. Print it rough, find the problem, fix the CAD, print it again.
One engineer, across revisions
When you send revision four of an assembly, you shouldn't have to re-explain what the assembly is. We keep one engineer assigned to a project, so the context carries between iterations. They already know which face is the mating surface, which hole takes the heat-set insert, and which dimension you were fighting last time.
That continuity is also why iteration pricing works. Repeat geometry has already been reviewed and sliced once, so subsequent revisions skip most of the setup work and we pass that saving on.
Rush service, and when to use it
Rush turnaround delivers in 24 hours at a 1.7× multiplier, subject to machine availability. It exists for the genuine emergency: the review meeting on Thursday, the trade show on Friday, the line stoppage waiting on a fixture.
It's worth being honest that most projects don't need it. Standard turnaround is 4 to 5 business days and expedited is 2, and planning one week ahead is dramatically cheaper than paying the rush multiplier every time. Where rush pays for itself is when a day of delay costs more than the surcharge, which, for a stopped production line, it invariably does.
A typical iteration cycle
- Day 0. You upload revision N and get an instant price
- Day 0, engineering review flags any printability issues
- Day 1-2: the part prints and is post-processed
- Day 2-3, dispatched by courier, 1-3 days in transit
- You test, mark up the problems, and revision N+1 starts
Rapid Prototyping, common questions
How cheap can a quick fit-check part be?
The ₹350 order minimum is the floor, and a small PLA part at draft finish and low infill will land there. That's deliberately cheap: a fit check should cost less than the meeting you'd hold to argue about whether the fit is right.
Do you offer a discount on repeat revisions?
Yes. Repeat geometry has already been reviewed and sliced, so subsequent revisions of the same part skip most of the setup effort and are priced accordingly. Mention the previous job reference when you submit.
Can you print several design variants at once?
Yes, and it's usually the smart move. Several variants plated together in one job share the setup fee, so testing three versions of a handle costs far less than three separate orders. And you get to compare them in your hand rather than in sequence.
